About Me and This Site

Hi, I'm Scott Trotter. Here's my resume. More later.

From 1999, I held the positions of Technical Director, Producer and Executive Producer at Paris France, an award-winning interactive design firm located in Portland, Oregon. Sadly, while we managed to last quite a bit longer than many of our contemporaries, Paris was unable to survive the recession and closed it's doors on April 15, 2003. Since that time, the entire design and production team has continued to work together on a freelance basis, producing web sites of the same high caliber as during our time at Paris. If you are interested in developing such a site for your business or organization, please send me an email at scott at trotternet dot com.

The Paris France website itself is seriously out-of-date, and I'll be updating it as time permits. In the mean time, listed below are (almost) all of Paris' projects from the 4+ years of it's existence, plus those few projects that were either started at Paris and finished by former Parisians, or former Paris clients who continued to work with us after the shop closed. Since I was at Paris France almost from the very beginning, I played some role in almost all of the projects listed below. As time permits, I'll update the comments for each project to indicate exactly what that role was in each case.

In general, in my role as Technical Director for the firm, I was responsible for all development-related activities on all projects including programming, documentation and testing, and for supervising the development staff. I was also responsible for keeping up-to-date on the latest development technologies, and for prototyping new implementation techniques. In my role as Producer of certain projects, I was responsible for the successful production of each project starting from the acceptance by the client of the Project Definition Document up through site launch, and in some cases, post-launch maintenance, including Concepting, Treatments, Storyboarding, Design, Prototyping, Development, Testing and Launch phases. In my role as Executive Producer for the firm starting in 2001, I was responsible for the overall scheduling, resource allocation and successful completion of all of Paris' projects. And in addition to all that, I was also the IT department, the Paris webmaster, and the Managing Editor of the Oregon Lottery Playtime site for nearly 2 years.
